Keep Islip Clean's October General MeetingThursday, October 18th, 7pm -- We will begin the meeting with an award to the Adecco Group  employees for their volunteerism. Monday, October 15th – Bohlsen Restaurant Group Cleanup of Heckscher Park coastline. This event is in partnership with BRG, Keep Islip Clean, the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society and Seatuck Environmental Association. It is part of the #stopsuckingwithBRG campaign to limit the use of plastic straws. Meet at Heckscher Park, Field 7. 11am to 1pm. To volunteer contact 

Saturday October 20th - Brook Street Wetlands Cleanup. This is the last of our large International Coastal Cleanup events. volunteers will pickup and tally litter for the Ocean Conservancy. Join us for this important environmental event. 9:30am to 11am. Road closed to traffic for safety.  All instructions and supplies provided.

Saturday, October 20th – Holbrook Community Cleanup. Meet at Suffolk County Legislator William Lindsay’s office, 1609 Grundy Ave., 8:45am. Each child under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information 631-854-9611 or

Sunday, October 28th - East Islip Community Cleanup. Meet at the East Islip Library parking lot, where location suggestions will be provided. 10am

Saturday, November 3rd – Vietnam Memorial Garden Fall Cleanup. Meet at the memorial at 401 Main Street, Islip. 10am. Hosted by Rusy-Bohm American Legion Auxiliary and Juniors. Help spruce up the memorial garden. Please bring rakes and shovels, if possible. For information 631-277-8585
